Hi Jim.
I got your question about IR and noise - a problem that I've dealt with quite a bit. When I first started with IR, I would always go with a 400 ISO to get shorter shutter speeds. Of course this made my pics "obnoxiously noisy", as you put it. I didn't care for this either, so I did a 180 and tried 50 ISO. This resulted in less noise, but longer shutter speeds and slightly blurred photos. (I've found that the only ways to reduce the blur is to make sure you're shooting in full sun and shooting on days with little to no wind.)

So basically, I guess it's a toss up between grainy or blurry. Which do you prefer?
I am starting to like the look of the blur - it adds a kind of etheral feel (or at least that's what I tell myself).

Good luck with the IR and let me know if you come up with anything cool. :)

me? doing ok i guess.
dropped out of uni (that was a good thing) but then too quickly went into a fulltime job.

the workload was a shock, and took a bit of getting used to, but i think i've got things sorted out now... i'm on the right track at least. i'm doing more with my time out of work too, instead of just vegetating / crashing once i get home.

oh, and i got a fish. a pet fish mind. in a bowl. had it for a month or two and it still doesn't have a name though.

yup.
